The Speedwell Exhibitions were organised by the Speedwell Bicycle Club, which was one of the earliest bicycle clubs in Birmingham. It was founded in 1876 and had its headquarters in Speedwell Road, Edgbaston. The club organised five of these annual exhibitions; the first of them was held in March 1882. The exhibitions were at Bingley Exhibition Hall in Broad Street, Birmingham.
