The Great Ouse Cruise

Sunday 22 May 2011

Photos by Andrew Pattle and Remo Ruta,
Report by Alex Lees

The day began well, weather not bad.  Good location and an interesting ride around North Bedfordshire with particular emphasis on the River Great Ouse.  The usual watering hole where the landlord made us most welcome.

So far so good.

The only problem was: where were you all?  We only had eleven riders!  It's simply not good enough; we had an excess of bacon rolls, home baked cakes, etc.  Ralph and I are fair-minded people and are prepared to forgive and forget, but don't let it happen again!

Ralph led the way on his Rudge, I followed with the recovery truck.  I had very little to do except for when our leader Andrew Pattle on his James stopped about a mile from home.  Then he said ""I haven't put any fuel in since January"!

The hall with so much spare room was given over to Danny's immaculate display of spares and accessories - well done Danny.

See you all at the Peninsularis,
Alex Lees.
